Here’s another excellent video from Edutopia. Designing games is something that children and teenagers have huge interest in, I know this from my own students over the past few years. The skills learned when designing and coding are beneficial to many areas of learning.

Three Pointer Tuesday: Subscribe to 3 of my Twitter Lists!

Lists are a great way to organise your followed streams on Twitter. I have some truly vivid recollections of that time, many more than from other more recent years. This must be down to the music. We had silly little songs and rhymes for maths, Gaeilge and every other subject area. But most of all I remember him for teaching us “real” songs. I don’t think I had learned any songs in school before this that weren’t “school” songs. And the song that I remember most clearly from third class is “Leaving On A Jet Plane”. So thank you, Mr. Fry, for a memorable term and an introduction to a new world of music!

Are there any songs that you regularly teach?

15 Apps for Digital Art Week

I’ve said before on this blog that astronomy fascinates me. I find it mind-boggling, inspiring, belittling and uplifting all at the same time. This week’s video puts into some perspective the size of some satellites, planets and stars. From our moon to VY Canis Majoris, the series of images is enough to make you feel small and insignificant, enjoy!

Fotobabble - Talking Photos
